About Us

Hi! My name is Clarey and I am mom on maternity leave with little TJ and wife to a wonderful hubby. I went to university to study Foods and Nutrition, thinking I wanted to be a dietician but partway through, I knew it wasn’t for me. I fell in love with baking and cooking and decided that something more “hands-on” in the food industry would be a better fit for me. After graduating, I got a job as a technician in a product development lab at a local food manufacturing company (I had no idea such a job existed until I got it). From there I became a culinary technologist where the highlight of the job for me was recipe testing. It was a great job that I loved, but now I’m on maternity leave, so I decided I needed a new outlet for my love of food. Kendra and I had always discussed the idea of starting a blog and so it began. Hope you enjoy our food adventures!

Hi, I’m Kendra. I’m a full-time wife, mom, and self-proclaimed foodie, and a part-time speech-language pathologist. I have always loved to cook and bake, thanks to my mom, who is, in my opinion, the greatest cook on the planet. From the time I was very small, she let me help her in the kitchen [even though I am a very messy cook and she is very tidy :)]. One of my favourite things to do when I was small was “little foods” which involved her giving me small bits of foods and letting me create whatever I wanted. Even still, my favourite thing to do in the kitchen is to take a bunch of random ingredients in my fridge and create something new! When I met Clarey in 2012 through our church young adults group, we instantly bonded over our love of food. Over the past 4 years, a significant percentage (read:  >90%) of our “hangouts” have involved food [or exercise to counteract the food :)] including cooking freezer meals, trips to Whole Foods, cooking for large groups of young adults, trips to Costco, trying new recipes, and dreaming about starting a blog. So, after talking about it for two years, we finally decided to take the plunge and make our blog dream a reality. Hope you enjoy our creative outlet!
