Curried Green Bean “Fries”
A flavourful side dish that is simple to prepare and sure to please! It can easily be doubled, tripled, or even quadrupled!
4side servings
4side servings
  • 1lb green beans
  • 2tbsp butter, melted
  • 1tsp curry powder
  • 1/2tsp turmeric
  • 1/2tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2tsp salt(or to taste)
  • 1/4tsp chili flakes(optional)
  1. Gather all necessary ingredients.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to boil.
  3. Blanch the beans. Dump cleaned and de-stemmed (if necessary) green beans into boiling water, and allow to boil for 3 minutes.
  4. While green beans are boiling, prepare a large bowl of ice water. When the 3 minutes is up, drain green beans, and then throw them into the bowl of ice water. This step will stop the cooking process so they don’t get overcooked before they are seasoned, but you also won’t need to bake them in the oven as long.
  5. Dry green beans thoroughly to ensure seasoning will stick well to them.
  6. Mix together melted butter, salt, and spices in a small bowl.
  7. Pour seasoning over green beans and toss to coat thoroughly.
  8. Spread beans on a baking sheet covered in parchment paper, and bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes. If you want to skip blanching the beans, then bake for 50-60 minutes.
